The longest journey begins with the first step.
We’ve heard this before but with the start of a New Year before us, what journey do you want to begin?
As Yogi Berra said, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there!”
Landmark Education suggests deciding upon a goal and breaking it into bite sized segments for easier digestion. Mini-Goals along the way make the journey not seem so long or daunting.
Katrina, our dietary consultant might suggest to a client wishing to lose 25lbs to set goals of maybe 3lbs every two weeks so it doesn’t seem impossible to achieve that full goal of 25lbs.
When I was a kid Banks would suggest opening a Christmas Club Savings account so that people could tuck away small and manageable amounts with each paycheck so the year end cost of presents for the whole family would be achievable.
Certainly Andrew, our Financial Advisor, knows the value of incremental savings and the accumulation possible. Nest Eggs are best laid over years.
Business goals can also be achieved in this manner; a certain number of appointments per week, a certain amount of closed business per month, can help attain a growth goal for the year.
lastly, here is a related thought….
When is the best time to plant a tree?
When is the second best time? Today!!!
Take your first step toward something new this year and plan your steps to accomplish that goal.
….And, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a happy and healthy New Year.
