Make More Money By Acting Like Pavlov With Your 30 Second Commercial

Elevate is a networking community organized to help our members make more money through structured collaboration and referrals.

Last week, we asked the question of ‘is there gold in the Elevate mine for us?’

And then we discussed that our 85 members are directly connected to about 5,000 people if we count their friends, families, clients, Facebook followers, LinkedIn contacts, etc.

That means everyone in Elevate can get a direct introduction to about 500,000 people that are one level removed from our members and that there are dozens of people that need our services today.

So how do we get to the people that desperately need us?

Now that we know that there is gold in our mine, we need to start working on the dozens of tactics we have that will help us extract it, so let’s start with our 30 second commercial at our weekly meeting, since this is the most frequently used tactic we can employ.

So what is the goal of our commercial?

Let’s take me for example.

In my 14 years here, I’ve won best commercial exactly one time.

But I’ve won the double super secret most effective commercial for 600 weeks in a row.

The first award is judged by our fellow members; the second one is judged by the amount of referrals and closed business that we get.

So consider Ivan Pavlov, who conditioned dogs to salivate when he rang the dinner bell.

Modeling that, every week as a modern day Pavlov, I’m trying to condition all of you that when you hear ‘website” you immediately think Conrad.

And I know that I’m doing a really good job, when you are both thinking about me and salivating…

Notice that I don’t tell you how we make websites.

I don’t tell you about what industries I work with.

I don’t tell you about what budgets are good for me.

And I don’t try to entertain you.

I just give a super simple commercial every week that reinforces my biggest opportunity: websites of every type.

That’s not to say that details aren’t important, but we can get into details when we have more than 30 seconds like on our 121s and in our 5 minute presentations.

So make sure to be a Pavlov, and use your commercial to ring the dinner bell of your biggest opportunity, and I guarantee that you will get more referrals and make more money.
