The Keys to Summiting the Mountains In Your Business & Life – Part 1

Summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro is no easy feat. It also offers lessons that can help you do business better and live a happier, healthy life.

This week I offer the first of a two-part series of insights I learned from climbing the world’s highest free-standing mountain so I can share some of the lessons and blessings with you.

1. Trust – Getting to the top of Kilimanjaro is a huge lesson in trust. Who do you trust? … with your business, your family, your money, and your life? When climbing to the top, whether it is Kilimanjaro or the top of your field, be thoughtful about who you trust in your company and in other areas of your life. Consider if they are the people you can rely on in every type of business situation. Without trust, you cannot reach the peak of your industry, much less achieve your goals.

2. Climb with a Team – It’s easier to make it to the top when you have an amazing team to support you. Together you all rise and fall on the integrated performance of each person on the team. You encourage each other to do your best, cheer each other on, and help one another to reach the top of your potential by supporting one another in a variety of ways.

Next week we’ll talk about the three P’s: perseverance, possibility and persistence!
