Ah…just 5 years ago…do you remember 5 years ago? Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane…
On October 11, 2008, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned that the world financial system was teetering on the “brink of systemic meltdown.”
The Dow Jones industrial average fell over 1,874 points, or 18%, in its worst weekly performance. The S&P 500 fell more than 20%.[7]
After the first meeting of NYC Chapter 62- that afternoon- many of the world’s stock exchanges experienced the worst declines in their history.
It was the Crash…the Panic of 2008.
Bad things do happen; how you respond to them defines character and the quality of life. We can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of loss, or we can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the precious gifts of creating possibilities with our self and people around us.
5 years ago in New York City we were reeling from an authentic meltdown. It wasn’t imagined …it was real.
Friends and family, co-workers and neighbors were pink slipped, down sized or shoved aside.
You could hear, see, feel fear itself.
….and yet the very same week…at the very bottom of the pit of the worst economic disaster since the great depression….a handful of people (some still around this table) got together and PLANNED to make Lucky 62 what is today…the largest and highest revenue referral machine in NYC and without question one of the top in the country.
