Keep Your Head Up

It’s clearly a strange and uncertain time. And having structure, routine, and community – especially in the form of a business building network like Elevate – is more valuable than ever.

There’s a lot of tough news out there. People are losing revenue, and jobs, and too many are even losing their lives.

But there is also the other, more positive side. And while nobody would have chosen all of this to happen, in the middle of this storm, rainbows can be found.

Right here in NY, and across the country, enough patients are getting off ventilators that many of the staff in various hospital wards are creating celebratory dances for each time someone gets to leave and head back home.

And out in Oregon, a 104 year old World War II veteran named Bill Lapsches is the oldest known survivor. As he left the hospital and was asked what happened, he simply said, “I dunno. It just went away.”

The human spirit is alive and well, and our resourcefulness and creativity continue to impress and inspire.

The mother of our very own Elevate President, Amy Noelle, made over two hundred homemade masks. And more than half were used at NYU’s Langone hospital before they got a shipment of N95’s. So Amy now has a few extras of the homemade ones if you or someone you know is in need.

And even yours truly came down with a case of Corona – though fortunately it was mild and I’m happy to say I came through it with flying colors and it’s now behind me. And I’m going to be able to donate plasma for some of those who need it.

I’m not going to say the tragedies are over. And it is a serious time. But we humans have a tremendous capacity to rise up, to learn, and to find a way forward. And inside every adversity there is a seed for greater growth.

Just keep going, day at a time. We can check in with each other, and with ourselves. Make sure to honor your needs, and to allow for feelings and stillness and both the ups and downs.

Let’s keep showing up, putting one foot in front of the other, and of course creating business.

Amazing stat – since last we’ve been in the same physical location together, back on March 4th, we’ve collectively generated over a million dollars in closed business!

That’s incredible. And yet given what we know about who we are, and what we’re capable of, it’s really just how we roll.

So keep your head up, Elevate. Support how you can, ask for what you need, and don’t forget, we’re all in this together!
