Make More Money With The Right Attitude – Helping People

NYC Elevate is a networking community organized to help our members make more money through structured collaboration and referrals.

Last week we discussed that learning to network at the highest level, is kind of like learning how to solve a rubik’s cube. We have to break it down step by step, and then it’s not too difficult.

So Step 1 toward being a Jedi Level networker is to have the right attitude.

Most of the time we walk around thinking about ourselves and what people can do for us, and most of the time the glass is half empty.

But if you really want to be successful, you should go through life only thinking about how you can help people.

If my client needs a CPA or Personal Trainer or anything beyond what I do, I can help them by introducing them to a top professional.

An ancillary benefit of helping my clients outside of my area of expertise means I get to help my fellow members by giving them referrals and closed business.

If I know someone that wants to grow their business; improve their public speaking; needs a job, or someone that just likes meeting people, I help them by inviting them to this meeting and giving them a networking opportunity.

And by helping all these people get what they need without expectation of them returning the favor; I know that I’ll get everything I need, either directly or indirectly.

So flip the script in your head and go through life focused on how you can help the next person in front of you, and I guarantee that you will not only feel great about yourself, I guarantee that you’ll make more money.
