Make More Money Building Power Teams Around Job Titles

NYC Elevate is a million dollar a month, networking community organized to help our members make more money through structured collaboration and referrals.

Recently, we discussed that the most important thing we do in business is not the service we provide, but securing that next client.

We also discussed that using Elevate and NYC is the least expensive way that we can get a new client.

And if that’s the case, we need to ask ourselves how we can get more clients and more value out of Elevate?

We’ve already discussed that you should be visiting other NYC chapters on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We also learned that you can use NYC Global Connect to look for synergistic professions and have 121s with them to build relationships.

We also learn that many NYC members have trouble getting subs, so why not offer to sub for a member at another chapter where you want to build a relationship with? Do them a favor; build a relationship and maybe get a bunch of referrals in return.

Last week, we discussed forming very specific power teams around personal life events like …

  • Having a baby
  • Getting married
  • Getting a divorce
  • Getting a new job
  • Getting a bonus at work
  • Retiring from work

Then we discussed forming very specific power teams around business events; things like…

  • Starting a business
  • Downsizing a business
  • A business that’s growing and hiring people
  • A business that’s taking investments
  • A business that’s moving

Next, we can form Power Teams based on Job Titles.

For example, we might want to form a Power Team that solves problems for people with the job title of Office Administrator.

That would allow disparate professionals like Christie Bennet, our Commercial Office Leasing Broker, to better network with Danya Rogers Cohan, our Mobility and Telecom Expense Pro.

Christie can help the Office Administrator find new office space while Danya can help the Office Administrator reduce the business’ telecom expenses.

So what other job titles do you work with on a consistent basis?

If you network with your fellow members who work with people with those same job titles, you can cross-refer one another and I guarantee that you will all make more money!
